Since I work for a travel company and I talk about Las Vegas all day long, I took it upon myself to visit the majority of the casinos so that I could recommend them to our customers. My personal favorite was the Luxor, which was the first hotel/casino that we stopped at. The main hotel portion that also houses the casino looks like a giant pyramid, and the entire property is modeled after ancient Egypt. There is a Sphinx statue outside, and there are also other crazy statues around, as well as some beasts outside that I had to take a ride on. Las Vegas hotels, like the Walt Disney properties, spare no expense at creating realism and going the extra mile in creation of said properties. If it weren't for the constant ringing from the slot machines, half-naked women and free drinks, I would have thought that I was in the middle of the desert. Since Las Vegas is kind of in the middle of the desert, I guess the Egypt theme works out here. Criss Angel of the A & E show MindFreak has his production studios at the Luxor, so I went by to check it out. I swear that I saw his Mom and his brother J.D. hanging out in the office, but I did not see Criss Angel in there. I love the show, and I came here to try and see Criss in action so that I can see his magic and illusion with my own eyes, but as far as I could tell, he wasn't performing any of his magic in the lobby of the Luxor on that day.

I made it my goal to either get a picture of myself in front of every hotel or a picture of every hotel itself so that I could show them to my friends at work. It has been 4 months since my return, and (besides posting them on this site) I have yet to show them to my co-workers. It was entertaining visiting all of these properties that I have not been to before, and I especially enjoyed going to the Hooters Casino Hotel. It's exactly like a Hooters restaurant, with the wood paneling, bar, wings, and of course, the girls in tight tops and booty shorts. Although I lost money, I would surely go back.

I've been to the MGM Grand before, but not since I was 20 years old when we made a stop in Las Vegas on the way out to California when we drove there in July of 2001. I had first gambled when I was 18 up in Minnesota, but that was my 1st time illegally gambling in a legalized environment. I wanted to go back and check it out again, but I just didn't have enough time. I was here to play beer pong.

On the walk back to the car, we passed by the skyline of the New York, New York casino hotel. This one is still my favorite out of all the ones out there because of it's faithful recreation in and out of New York City. When I went out to NYC in March of 2006, I was blown away by the city's character, and was once again stunned by the extreme measures taken to make this look like the real thing.

We took our stuff up into the room and then went to meet up with the other Milwaukee pongers. Before we did that, we would have to go and register with the Bpong staff to let them know that we made it out here successfully. We checked in, said hi to a few old friends from years past, then went to drink some beers.

Home

When we got to the South Point hotel (which is about 7 miles south of the major hotels on The Strip) we checked into our room right away, and when I was waiting in line, I saw this old dude who was all partied out. That must have been a mighty comfortable chair he was in, cause he was passed the F out. He's hardcore due.
