Afterglow 2017 - Day 1 Saturday

Experimentation is all part of a Scientist's day job. I'm not sure why I know this, because I am no Scientist. But this camera was brand new and I had yet to do much with it, so every jump off the raft into the water was being filmed. You know, for scientific purposes like research and shit. People in the future may study videos like this so that they get a better grip on what mankind was like in 2017. And then they will write us off as a bunch of idiots and thank their lucky stars that they reached a higher plane of existence that was beyond silly nonsense like this video.

I gave the camera to my fellow non Scientist Kevin to do a little experimentation of his own. Since he is younger and a hell of lot more nimble than I am, he was able to do a flip off of the low dive and film the results. And while I feel like it was a noble effort, he labeled it "subpar." Each Scientist or non Scientist is allowed to evaluate their work, decide what to do next time and then figure out a way to apologize to the Scientific community for wasting their time with "subpar" results.

We've already established that this was Andy's first time at Afterglow. So of course we made him walk the plank of initiation, otherwise known as jumping off of the high dive. I am pleased to report that he had no fear and survived the plunge into the waters. Word on the Phelps streets is that he was even seen going back for more. This has been known to happen from time to time. Even to the best of us.

All this video represents is a shock to the system. For me physically at the time as I plunge into the cool waters and for your auditory senses now as you listen to the harsh sounds as the camera slaps the water and bubbles surround the microphone. On behalf of all the employees of Pookon.com, we apologize. But we can't promise that it will never happen again because we can't afford to get tangled up in another lawsuit. The last one nearly bankrupted an already financially endangered company.
