La Crosse Visit with Family

I think that we were planning on eating at the Cartwright center, but that idea was abandoned after we went to the bookstore. Mom wanted to buy a UW-La Crosse sweatshirt, and Tim and I wanted to buy some candy. We left the bookstore and decided to hit up the local McDonalds, which was actually several miles away in the town of Onalaska.

I remember when we were kids and we used to come to La Crosse in the fall to look at the beautiful colors of the trees. It had been years since we had last visited, so we decided to go on top of Grandad's Bluff to see the surrounding area. From the viewing area, you can see the entire city of La Crosse, the Mississippi River, parts of Minnesota and on a clear day, parts of Iowa. I'm not sure if the kids (Jenny and Tim) remembered going there when they were younger, but I'm certain that they will remember it now.

On top of the bluff there are these binocular devices that allow you look down upon the inhabitants of the city of La Crosse just like the Grinch did before he stole Christmas. I used it to take a closer look at Jenny's dormitory. Well, since I wasn't really familiar with the campus, I got in the general vicinity of her domicile.

This is more of an inside joke between Tim and I, so if you aren't hip to that joke, then just ignore the meaning behind this picture and laugh at Tim's silly grin while holding a Christmas sausage.

After our escapade in the Wal-Mart, when we got yelled at by Mom and the store employees, so Tim had to literally fly out of the store in order to ensure his safety.
