Minnesota, Mike Bates, Jenny, + Me

There's got to be a morning after, if we can hold on to the night. And the time eventually came for us to bid Mike farewell. It's a good 5 plus hour drive, so noon looked like a good time to make our move.

Mike continued to be a grand host even up until the end, seeing us off, and waving to us as we disappeared from his vision.

Mike decided to lie on the front stoop like a homeless person for no apparent reason. Silly ol' Mike.

I don't know why I am so happy, seeing as I just left my best friend behind as I'm going back home. Maybe it's cause I get to go on another road trip with my sister.

We stopped at a rest stop to uh... rest. And to get out of the car for a few moments to goof around before continuing on our adventure back home.

At the beginning of the trip, Jenny was so excited about the whole thing, and even said "I can't believe Mom let me and you take a road trip." She slept the whole time, both ways, only taking enough time to stop at the occasional gas station or Wendy's. She made me stop at Wendy's on the ride up to get a Frosty, cause Cecil Anderson tried to make his own at home, and it just wasn't the same. Only Wendy's original Frostys will do, so we had to stop. But she wasn't hungry on the ride home, and just curled up and slept. Wasn't all bad though, cause it gave me more time to ponder a way to enhance the content of this site, and to take the picture that you see below.

Jenny, with a half-sneeze, half-trying to cover her face in avoidance of my camera, succeeds admirably. But she didn't count on my cunning skills as a photographer to capture an image no matter what the cost, even disease.

A trip to Minneapolis wouldn't be complete without a visit to Chipotle. We go there every time that I've been up there, so this one was no different. By the look of the burrito left in his hand, Mike was enjoying his meal.

That burrito left a very very spicy taste in his mouth, so he sips the coca-cola that diminishes the fire on his tongue as he mistakenly takes another bite, completing yet another vicious cycle.
