Minnesota with Bates Family 2011 - Day 2

After lunch the rest of the family decided to take Reese on some rides so Mike and I were once again left alone to get into some trouble and mischief. There was a display set up showcasing the Kinect system for XBOX 360 and Mike and I just had to check it out. Especially since it was free to try. We played this dancing game where you had to imitate the moves on the screen and it captured your performance and graded you on accuracy. I'm not much of a dancer but Bates has some pretty good moves, which is why he was awarded the top score at the end of the game.

I love Icees and Slushies. For my dollar there isn't a whole lot better to spend my money on. When I saw this Icee stand outside of the Nickelodeon Universe midway area I just had to buy one. They had 9 different flavors  but I couldn't just get one of them. What would that accomplish? Nothing! Which is why I made the mother of all Monster Mixes. And you know what? I enjoyed the mess out of it. The whirlwind of flavors was the greatest thing I ever tasted.

Katie was hanging out nearby and she saw Mike and I dancing and she just had to come over and try it for herself. We didn't know that the game takes pictures of you until we were done playing it, and we got a good laugh out of it. I especially loved these pictures because I'm "that guy" in the background of the pictures who is desperately trying to get noticed by being a little odd. Well I definitely achieved my goal. Congratulations.

It's no surprise that Mike and Katie have some pretty good chemistry. You don't survive as high school sweethearts all the way to 12 years later having been married for over 5 years without chemistry. They danced the day away and even mixed it up a little bit during the freestyle portion of the game. And the whole time I just stood in the background and smiled. So we all just did what we were good at. No more, no less.

If she wasn't on the clock and in danger of losing her job she might have slapped me. But instead she laughed. The fact that the customer is always right rules. We then stopped in a Wisconsin cheese store to buy some cheese curds and I found a foam sombrero, which I just had to try on. Even if it was a little cheesy, things in life are always better when you are wearing a sombrero. That's the reality here folks.

This morning we went to the Mall of America. Everyone else went off to do their own thing so Mike and I went to Hooters for a couple of beers. Mike was wearing a Brewers jersey and I was wearing a Packers jersey. She said that she was from Wisconsin and that those were her two favorite things. I looked back at her and said that's funny, you have two of my favorite things. Honest to God I did.
