I had Jenny take my picture with all of the artifacts from the Back to the Future movies because I wanted to freeze this moment in time because I knew that the next time I would be here, they wouldn't be. I first stood outside the Back to the Future sign, which made me weep when I saw the beauty of its calligraphy. Never before have 4 words looked so good. I then stood aside Emmett "Doc" Brown's train from the end of Back to the Future III, which once again made me shed a tear of pure joy. This was a dream come true for me to see these things. |
Orlando Spring Break - Day 6 |
I realized that Jenny was taking the picture from the wrong angle, and set her up to take another one. I certainly was missing the jeans and "life preserver" vest, and the gull wing door could have been open, but otherwise I nailed the picture pretty well. I have provided the poster so that you can reference the comparison between the two. Park security was lurking around the area, and being inside of the metal barriers could have meant my expulsion from the park. I was taking a risk, but it was well worth the punishment. |
Since Jenny had the camera in her hand to take my picture, I had to expect some pictures of the sky or feet. Jenny gave me exactly what I was expecting, but this picture turned out to be halfway decent. I like that she took a picture of a palm tree because they are very nice and remind me of the serenity and beauty out here. |
This rehydration chamber was part of the future institute of technology section that no longer exists in the park. Within the next month, they would be closing the Back to the Future ride to make way for a new Simpsons themed ride. That is why I had to come down here and go on this ride again and check out all of the Back to the Future themed stuff. Rumor has it that today's generation no longer cares about Doc Brown and Marty McFly's adventures through time, so Universal Studios is replacing the ride. Although I know that the original Back to the Future movie came out 22 years ago, I still feel like the story, characters, and special effects hold up today. For it's mix of comedy, action, and drama, the Back to the Future Trilogy has been and will always be my favorite movie trilogy. I'm right where I was meant to be. |
There was a model DeLorean time machine located next to the store. It was surrounded by metal barriers that were intended to keep people out, but I know that they didn't prepare their security system for a rabid fan like me. I snuck next to it and posed like Marty McFly and reenacted the poster for the original Back to the Future. |
