The Deep South (Carolina) - Day 2

We were at the Flying Saucer for a good while, and before I knew it, it was time to go back home cause James was getting off of work. I think we hung out at home for a little while and watched TV and ate dinner. Then we went out to Schooner's (their neighborhood bar) to hang out for the rest of the night.

James had told the bar owner that I was coming in town for the weekend, and hyped me up as a professional beer pong player. I have played in professional tournaments (like WSoBP I-V) but I consider myself a semi-pro. But people we excited to play against me, and I never turn down a challenge to play some locals.

The game started out evenly, but I went Ice Cold and James and Melissa started heating up. When you factor in that my partner didn't make 1 cup the entire game, you know the result without me having to tell you. But I will tell you anyway - James and Melissa beat me at beer pong. All's fair in love and beer pong.

When it comes to beer pong, everyone has their own rules, which often leads to huge debates on how the game should be played. Usually you play by house rules, but since I was in training for WSoBP V, I asked if we could play by those rules. So we did. My first game of the evening had me teamed up with some bar random (named Joseph) against James and Melissa. My partner totally sucked, so I knew from the start I would have to carry his Southern ass. So it came down to Reck vs. Reck and Future Reck. Which team would come out victorious?

I don't remember the name of the guy who I lost with, but me and Shorty (pictured) ran the table. He was a diminutive fellow (hence the name) but he was damn good at beer pong. It just goes to show you that height is not a factor in making cups, so people who complain about tall players should just learn to shoot better.

Home

Everything is so much different down South. They listen to a lot of country music and Lynyrd Skynyrd, so I had to break up the jukebox playlist by putting on some Journey and Def Leppard. Then Melissa went back and played some more country music. I tried to ignore it by consuming more alcohol, but that only made it worse. I want this music out of my head!! Eventually I just manned up and dealt with it, and kept playing beer pong with James, Melissa and the bar randoms that I met that night.
