Brewers vs. Twins in Minnesota 2009

This was Reese's 1st Brewers game, and her parents Mike and Katie, grandparents John and Sue, Aunt Karen, and "Uncles" Shawn and Scott were there to experience it with here. I was hoping that she would be a good luck charm, since the Brewers haven't fared too well up here in the Dome, but Reese's 1st game would end in a Brewers loss by a score of 6-2. It turns out that not even luck could help the Brewers that day, since they were going up against a pitcher (Anthony Swarzak) who was making his major league debut. We all know how that always turns out, as Swarzak pitched 7 innings and did not give up a run. Regardless of the score, it was still great to be a part of her 1st game.

I've known Shawn for many many years now. Even though he's a Twins fans, I always have a great time with him when I'm in Minneapolis. I knew this year would be no different, but at this moment I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

I was in the mood for some good food, but I was at the Metrodome so I settled for the next best thing - a Dome Dog. It's a quarter pound hot dog that I slathered with all of the toppings. Coupled with a bag of chips and a cold Miller Genuine Draft, and this moment was almost perfect. Perfect would be if I was back home watching the Brewers from beautiful Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Reese Bates is a little cutie pie. Let's just hope that she stays that way. But with parents like Mike and Katie, I can see her growing up to be nice looking kid. Let's just hope that she inherited their goofy personalities and sense of humor as well. Time will tell on that one.

I must have posted on Facebook that I was going up to Minneapolis for these games, because Carl Carstens (longtime friend since St. Catherine's grade school) texted me and said we should meet up there. He was sitting in the lower level, but we met in the concourse and I bought him a beer. We didn't hang out for long, because both of us wanted to get back to our seats to watch the game.
