Brewers vs. Twins in Minnesota 2007 - Game 3

On the way to the stadium I saw this advertisement for Keller Williams Realty. That in itself is funny, because Keller Williams is a musician that hippies like Jenny and Timmy chill out to. But it was insanely funny because someone had taken he time to draw glasses, a mustache, goatee, and devil horns on the picture. Classy move.

I was a little bit hungry, so I stopped by the concession stand for a Dome Dog. To be quite honest with you, this hot dog really wasn't any better than it's clever name. I'll take a Brat (be in Usinger's, Johnsonville, or Klement's) with onions and stadium sauce over this any day. There really is no place like home...

We had to park in some remote lot (parking in a downtown stadium is nothing like the expansive stadiumside parking lots at Miller Park) and walk over to the stadium. It was a bit of a squeeze finding a spot for Casey's Mom's minivan, but we made it happen.

Sunday's crowd was the lightest of the series, but that didn't stop me from cheering my ass off, even if I was all alone up in the "cheap seats". I was feeling really good about this game, especially since Suppan would be pitching after we had already won the first two games of the series. That feeling wouldn't last long. Suppan gave up 9 earned runs through 4 innings, and we would be in an early hole. We were going to call it quits, but Goonies never say die. Suddenly, the Brewers sparked a rally that saw them score 9 runs over the last 5 innings. The big and most memorable moment came in the 9th inning, when Prince Fielder hit a pop fly to the outfield that caromed off of a speaker hanging from the roof and fell for a base hit. Left fielder Lew Food couldn't find the ball when it landed, and Fielder kept chugging around the bases and crossed home for his first career in the park homerun. You wouldn't expect the husky 5'11" 270 pounder to leg that one out. That happened in the 9th inning, and we went into extra innings with the score tied at 9. In the bottom of the 10th, Justin Morneau hit a walk off shot against Chris Spurling, and my mood turned sour real quick. It was a damn good game, and at least we won the series.

We stopped at a rest stop on the road home to drain the main vein (otherwise known as urination). When I was there, I got a striking sense of déjà vu. I knew that I had been here before, and when I got home, I compared these pictures to these ones from 2002. I determined that I had been here, and that it was semi exciting to solve that mystery. Hey! I should be the new host of Unsolved Mysteries!

When I got home that night, I took a picture of myself smiling in the elevator because I wanted to preserve my natural mood and expression for all time. Not really, that was just a lot of BS to put in this space because I needed some text to fill this blank area.

When I got home, it was pretty hot in the apartment and Coach Gordon Bombay was sprawled out on the table trying to cool off. In the time I've had him, I've never seen him lounge around like this. I'd ask him why he did it, but it wouldn't make any sense meow.

Home

Mike wasn't going to be able to stick around for the 3rd and final game of the series, but I was because I was able to get a ride home from Casey and Lorge. Mike dropped me off at Treichel's house, and then we said our goodbyes. I knew that I'd being seeing him again soon, so there we nothing but happy feelings on that Sunday.
