Afterglow 2014 - Day 4 Tuesday

For reasons that I cannot remember, we decided to play a game of horseshoes. A game of horseshoes! I don't think this was an official game in the tournament because my Mother (my horseshoes partener) is nowhere to be found. So this was just a couple of kids playing an antiquated game and loving the shit out of it. Who needs technology? Who needs modern day conveniences? We don't.

I think it was Brandon and Jenny vs. Kevin and I. This was not only a match of skill but also a match of outlandish annoyance. We all are obnoxious in our own rights, but when you put us all together at one moment, you get an incomprehensible explosion of ridiculousness. I didn't think that this could be topped. But then this happened. I gave Curtis my camera so that he could take pictures of us and document this event.  I should have expected these kind of shenanigans from the one they call Curtis.
After exiting the BP we went back in the HT. Uncle Rick and Curtis joined us for no apparent reason. I think they were there for moral support. Or they didn't have anything else to do.

I don't know which team won this game. Does it even matter? Nope. All that matters is that Brandon and I were wearing rage shades and had our mouths agape. At the end of the day, that is all you remember anyway. Everything else is trivial.

The majestic beast known as Curtis stepped out from behind the camera and approached the horseshoe pit. What he did when he got there is a mystery. I don't say that to be cryptic. I say that because I don't remember. So it goes. That's the Afterglow way.

We had already gone swimming earlier today and fulfilled our part of the pact, but why not swim again? When you are blessed with a body of water as bountiful as Afterglow Lake, you have to take full advantage of it. After all, there are 365 days in a year and only 7 of them are spent up here. That means there are 358 days of the year when you can't swim in the lake. That's why we swim multiple times throughout the day even if the weather isn't optimal. Luckily there are always a few kids (like Tommy + Kevin) who think like I do.

Tommy and Kevin look kind of partied out here. I don't blame them. It's already been a very long day and there was still plenty left before the calendar turns the page to Wednesday. That's the beauty and the curse of Afterglow. We do so much as we try and cram so many activities into every day at Afterglow. It's not unreasonable to take a little time out for some rest and relaxation.

Brian eventually joined us out in the water, but when he did, he was all alone. Well not really I guess. He did have the log to keep him company. So it was BK3 and AL3 just floating out there.
