Afterglow 2012 - Day 1 Saturday

The photo frame came protected in a sheet of bubble wrap, and while the kids really liked the picture of Timmy they also really liked the bubble wrap. They will always cherish the memories of Timmy but the bubble wrap gave them a minute's worth of distraction to take them away from the emptiness and despair caused by his absence. Even when the world seems so bleak, there is bubble wrap.

I hadn't seen Alpine (which is my name for the dog Summit) since Afterglow Rage for Timmy II: Secret of the Ooze but she seemed to be the same size as she was back in April. So does Pete I must add. How does he stay so trim? Hard work, that's how. I wouldn't know. I haven't worked a day in my life. Scout's honor. The bear on the mantle eating hotdogs had his life served up for him on a stick but I still felt like he was worthy of a Rage for Timmy bracelet. Everyone should wear one.

Even though the "new" HT is not as cool as the old one, it is still one of our top 5 favorite places to hang out at AG. A lot of rage has happened in there after coming in from the HD in the BP. Sometimes we splash the water and CT the S out of everything.

You'll see a lot of these kind of pictures and if you don't like it you can leave right now. I don't know why I'm being such an ass about it but I take so many pictures of others that I forget to be in them, so I have to make sure to make an appearance.

While we were up on the HD we had no idea that we were being spied on by a Mother with a telephoto lens. No wonder Mothers see everything. This Mother happened to be mine and she was making sure we were all behaving and eating our vegetables while she was out at Memory Point with Eddie, Aunt Sandy and Aunt Maria. For the kids the first item to check off is swimming but for her it is to come out here and visit Timmy. I'm glad that people went with her for support because visiting this place is a really hard thing to do.

I always assume that the only people checking this site out are my family and rarely explain things for new visitors. Sorry for that. Memory Point is a beautiful place at Afterglow to sit and reflect and also is the place where my brother Timmy's ashes are buried. He died unexpectedly on April 25, 2011 and we buried him that summer. Since then I have come up to visit him a few times as part of the Rage for Timmy Tour. It never gets any easier but at least I know that he gets to hang out at the greatest place.

When we first get up to Afterglow there's a lot of pleasantries to be passed around. How are you doing? What have you been up to in the last year? The commons between Cabins #1 and #2 is always a good place for that activity as seen in this picture.

Aunt Rose put together this Timmy Afterglow photo compilation and gave one to Pete and Gail to permanently display. The words from his song "Afterglow" ring true - there's only one place left to go... it's Afterglow. That's how I feel for 51 weeks out of the year.
