Afterglow 2016 - Day 3 Monday

Curtis and Rick were out fishin' again. There has to be something to this sport/event that is appealing to people, because I don't get it. But to each their own. This is vacation. This is Afterglow. The true beauty of this place is that you can do whatever you want whenever you want. While they were out fishin', I was content to sit on the shore and take pictures of the action.

No night is complete without a stop at KK. Well that's not true. We actually don't hang out at KK as much as we used to, so I suppose that means that very few nights are complete. That can't happen because when the clock ticks midnight, the day is technically complete. So what does it all mean? It means that I'm reaching for something where only nothing exists. So on that note, I'm going to call it a night. So this was Monday. 3 days down and 4 days left to go. Midday tomorrow would signal the halfway point. This week goes by so fast...
The outdoors are amazing. Mother Nature deserves all of the credit that she gets for creating everything out there. But sometimes, you gotta take the party indoors and do some activities like billiards and ping pong. Kevin and Stacy faced off on the pool table and BK and Tommy faced off on the ping pong table and made tonight the night for epic table based battles. You take them where you can get 'em.

But back to Mother Nature. She sure knows how to paint a canvas, right? One might even say that she is the best painter of them all and every one of the greats throughout history have been trying to replicate her majesty for years. But even though they each have their own interpretation of what the great outdoors has to offer, none of them can come close to the original artist's work.

The time had come for us to gather around the campfire to sing some songs. There's not much to say about these pictures that they don't say for themselves, so that saves me some time and effort. All you really need to know is that we had some good times with good people and filled the night air with song. Thank God that we have a family crowd because they are very forgiving of our limited musicality. We're still learning and even though Kevin and I have been playing together since before he could legally drink, we're still a little rough. Mom is a lot more polished, but her bread and butter is kid songs and folk songs. We tend to dive into the classic rock with a little bit of modern pop (like Britney, Miley and Taylor) thrown in to keep people guessing. But guess as they may, everyone still had a good time that night.
