Phoenix, Mullet Deacon, + the Desert

Well, it happened to be Sunday morning, and as good little Christians, we went to church. Only this wasn't any old church, this was a spectacle. Sooo many people go to this church, that they have two simultaneous masses, one inside, and one outside. The inside church was huge, complete with stadium seating and a balcony. For the seats waaaay in the back, TV monitors so you could see what was happening at the altar. And outside, a band, complete with a guy on the drum set, and a bass player who was really getting into the music. There were so many people, it was SRO (standing room only). And at the end of mass, we all gathered up our chairs to put them away. The mass itself was so fun, Tim and I would've stayed for another one.

As you all know by now, these are Saguaro cacti. I like the little cactus growing right on top of the other one. Cool, eh?

If that wasn't cool enough, our Deacon was the coolest, plus he had one really sweet-ass mullet. It was so cool, that I took a picture of him after mass, only he didn't know it. Afterwards, we stopped by the snack bar, which was right next to the gift shop. Yeah, you heard me right. Snack bar and gift shop. What a kick ass church.

After church and lunch and stuff, we set upon our way to the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic, because 2 stupid people got in an accident, and the freeway entrance was blocked for like a half hour. This guy was in the car next to us, and you know me and taking pictures of people

The city of Phoenix, from the freeway. We passed by downtown the night before like 4 times cause we were lost. I figured out later on that we weren't the only people that got lost in the history of Phoenix. But that night, it certainly felt like we were.

Most of the pictures I took I took such as this one, with my arm out the window, while we drove at 80 m/p/h. Obviously, I was able to hang on to my camera, and get some good pictures to show you.
