The Trifecta - Lakefront Brewery Tour

My favorite thing about the Lakefront Brewery (besides their delicious beers) is that they purchased Bernie's Chalet from the Milwaukee Brewers when they tore down County Stadium. There was this big auction, and apparently they got it on the cheap. It's surprising that someone like Miller didn't pick it up, because it's an iconic landmark of Milwaukee much like the Mitchell Park Domes or the Calatrava addition to the Art Museum.

The Lakefront brewery tour is one of the greatest things to do in the city of Milwaukee, and I would totally recommend it to anyone who has never been there. Try to go on Friday nights for their most excellent fish frys, but Saturdays are pretty sweet too. There's not a whole lot to do in the winters here cause it sucks to be outside, but everything was great when we entered through these marvelous doors. We were a little early, so we had a few beers (in a glass and off of the table) and ate some pretzels.

Jenny has always been a bigger fan of hand crafted small batch brews, so she's at home here at the Lakefront Brewery. She especially likes the Riverwest Stein, which is their most popular beer. We were still buzzing from Miller, and this darker beer with higher alcohol content was getting us ready to party. Although we were drinking what you consider to be a small amount of beer, we hadn't eaten anything yet today, and here in Wisconsin our blood is thinner in the winter. Fresno Chris (my roommate at the time, pictured pointing to his had for some unknown reason) is from California, but he's been here long enough (5 years now or so) that he is getting acclimated to this weather. He doesn't like it, but at least now he understands why we drink so much in the winter. We do it to stave off the coldness and numb the pain.

I have known Paul for practically his entire life. He has been my little brother's best friend since they were little kids playing with trucks and crayons in kindergarten. I couldn't have picked anyone better (with the exception of my own brother, who was busy today) to join me on this Trifecta of brewery tours.

The Lakefront Brewery tour is the best because it's usually given by someone who has a controlling interest in the company (I've even gotten a tour by the founder of the brewery) and they let you (in fact they encourage you) to drink during the tour. They'll even carry a glass along as well, which makes for a really fun tour.

That sign is indeed correct - Lakefront beers are available here. From the upstairs tasting room to the multiple tap stations throughout this tour, this place has beer all over the place. Paul has been on this tour seriously over 20 times; it's that good. I've been here about 10 times, so I've got a little catching up to do. We have so much fun doing it our way (you'll see) that we can't stay away. I blame the brewery for making their tour so awesome.
