Afterglow 2015 - Day 4 Tuesday

Tuesday night is always when we have our Mexican Fiesta, so I needed to go back to the cabin and freshen up before the main event. On the way I stopped to check out Lake Afterglow and how gorgeous she looks in the evening. If she wasn't married (to Sugar Maple Lake), I'd make a run at this sext little minx. Maybe in another life... But when I got back to the cabin I saw that the workers were all done installing the septic unit and all that was left was dirt where grass used to be. I could now go #2 in Cabin #2 and no one could give me a hard time about it. Well, except for my cabin mates of course. But they were used to me by now, so there were no surprises anymore. I grabbed some sombreros and made my way across the street. And just like that, the Northwoods became Mexico.

I saw Jenny sitting at the end of the dock so I had to Geronimo! her with a cannonball. Had I realized that her and Mom were in a serious conversation, I would have approached this situation differently. Afterglow is a place of happiness, but it is also a place to sit back and reflect on memories past. So many memories in our lives involve Timmy because our family has always been so close. But Jenny and I were there to lighten the mood and turn that frown upside down. After all, isn't that what we are here for?

This is a banner day for Wearing a Sombrero, second only to Cinco de Mayo. That's because I get everyone to join in the revolución. And they all comply by donning this festive cranial accessory. And then we feast. Everyone contributes to the party and we have everything from nachos, to burritos to the infamous walking tacos. La comida es muy buena y tenemos que tomar una siesta por la tarde. And so we nap. And then we rally. And because of all the food we just ate, we nap again. And then we rally. It's a vicious (but necessary) cycle.

For some people, the Fiesta is complete when the dinner is over. And for some people, the Fiesta has just begun. The fun had just begun for Jesse and Stacy, which is what I would expect for a young couple in love at the beginning stage of their relationship. So dance children. Dance dance dance until the wheels fall off.

While the kids were dancing, Kevin took the opportunity to capture a moment with the two people responsible for creating him and bringing him into the World. That would be Mr. Dale and Mrs. Carol McKissick. Moments like these with the ones you love should be treasured.

June and Mike were camping nearby (somewhere in the Northwoods), which is why they stopped by on a Tuesday. We were happy to have them again, as this is not the first time they have been to Afterglow. They've been visiting for a long time.

The dogs didn't get to partake in our Mexican Fiesta, so they searched the water for some delicious treats. This may be frogs, insects, small fish or anything else that resides in the lake. Glad I was invited to the Fiesta so that I didn't have to resort to this.
