Afterglow 2015 - Day 6 Thursday

The Horseshoe Tournament is a real big deal to me. That's a given because Mom and I have won it several times in the past decade (and as recently as 2013). I look forward to this event every year and not just because we win. It's a sport that I can excel at while holding a beer in my hand (like beer pong and bags). But this year only a few teams signed up so we played all of our games on Thursday afternoon. I don't remember who played who and how the tournament shook out until the end, but the teams I know of were Mom & Me, Jenny & Kevin, Stacy & Tommy and Jessey & Dale. Below you will see random pictures from the opening round of us throwing shoes and taking names. What did we do with those names? I haven't a clue. Hopefully something to benefit the World.
Another day was coming to an end. Since it was Thursday, that means tomorrow would be our last full day here. But right now was no time to be upset about it. Night time at Afterglow brings about a whole new level of rage. But before the darkness set in, the sun gave us one last look at the beauty that is this place. And although I had my back to her, I'll never ever forget her stunning good looks.
At least Gail came out to watch us win. As did Maddie. I don't have the necessary funds to pay people to support my endeavors, so I thank them for giving up their time for free.  But what else would they be doing? Ringing a bell? Critter catching?

What I do know is that Mom & Me made it to the Championship Game as did Stacy & Tommy. If I'm not mistaken, Stacy & Tommy have won this tournament before so they were a formidable opponent. But with a few Championships under our belts, we were a force to be Reckoned with as well (pun intended). From what I recall (which isn't much) that it was a well fought match and a close game.

I don't know how it started and I can't tell you what happened in the middle, but I can certainly tell you how it ended. Mom & Me emerged as the 2015 Afterglow Horseshoe Champions. Stacy & Tommy fought well, but on this day experience won over youthful exuberance. There is still plenty of time for them to win one in the future, but they'll have to get through us to get there. Mom & Me aren't backing down anytime soon.

We had a small but loyal audience at the Horseshoe Championships tonight, but it was to be expected seeing as only the Reck/Kurutz gang entered the tournament. The rest of the resort must have had something better to do tonight. I can't imagine what that was.
