It's the last week of July in 2004, and you loyal pookon.com visitors know what this means - this is the week that my family goes on vacation to Afterglow Lake in Northern Wisconsin. I'm going to skip out on the intro and get right to the meat and potatoes of this years adventure. Check out 2003 and 2002's adventures by clicking on those links. That having been said, let us begin. We left on Sunday morning, July 25. Normally we would leave on Saturday, but James and I had to work all day long (like 12 hours each) on Saturday, so this made more sense. Jenny prepared for the long car ride by playing cell phone games, and I made sure that I packed all of my musical instruments for the grand concert.

James made sure to pack his leisure time, for during his real life he never has much time to relax. He would be the sole driver on the trip up, for neither Jenny nor I knew how to drive a car with a manual transmission.

This is when we stopped for some lunch at Wendy's or McDonald's in Wausau or Steven's Point. Truth be told is the only thing that I remember is that we stopped, for I have photographic proof. Anything else I cannot vouch for.

James drove, I rode shotgun, and Jenny slept in the back. I kept on talking to her to see if she was awake, and 6 times out of 10 she wasn't. Oh well. If I was tired, I certainly would have slept a bit. I think I do remember dozing off for a little bit. I can tell you that we all woke up and got hyped when James put on Usher + LiL John's "Yeah." We were all screaming "yeah" "ok" and "what" as loud as we could. If you don't get it, it means that you've never had the privilege of listen to the song, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I was having a ridiculous hair day, and there was nothing that I could do about it so I just let it go. This picture is one of the reasons why I currently have short hair again...

This is me with the booze that James and I bought and planned to consume by Tuesday. Seriously, when we are on vacation, this amount only lasts 2 days, 3 tops.
